About the School
The Universal American School, celebrating its 45th year as a nonprofit, private co-educational, college-preparatory day school serving an international student body of approximately 1790 PK-12 students. Accredited by The Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), the school is located on a two-acre site in Hawally, a suburb of Kuwait City.
All teachers are highly qualified and experienced educators. UAS offers an American, student-centered academic program, enhanced with a variety of Advanced Placement (AP) options. Extra-curricular offerings include student government, National Honor Society, MUN, drama, art, computer, and sustainability) as well as athletics (basketball, swimming, soccer, volleyball, badminton and track & field).
Our facility features swimming pools, indoor gymnasium, and a 350-seat auditorium, well-equipped health clinic, and four high school and two middle school science labs. The school utilizes wireless technology environment with a growing Bring Your Own Device program.

Accommodation
A fully furnished apartment that is a one-minute walk to the UAS campus. Includes internet, a free laundry facility and utilities paid. A workout gym, library, large screen t.v. and a relaxing zone is available in the basement of the single housing building for all housed residents. A large gathering area the venue for many wonderful events planned by the housing committee. The apartment manager is on call 24 hours to assist and keep the grounds safe. A weekly trip to the grocery store is provided. Pets are allowed with proper medical papers. This is a non smoking facility with designated smoking areas.
Flights/Transport
Round trip tickets are provided annually to your home of origin.
Medical
World wide coverage with emergencies covered in Canada and US. Co-pay 10KD with medications and tests fully covered. IF one parent employed at UAS child is covered. The option of insurance coverage of non- teaching spouse at an additional cost to the individual.
Other
1. Professional Development: external up to 200kd annually
inside Kuwait up to 300 KD annually
Registration costs paid for one regional conference. If selected to be a presenter for NESA conference-ticket, hotel and conference registration paid in full.
2. Additional Income: tutoring, coaching a sports team, head of a department, and AP teacher.
Bonus
After 2 years of service -350KD added
After 6 years of service-500 KD added
After 10 years of service-750 KD added
Bonuses are added in September of year 3 at UAS and beyond.
Yearly increments of percents are added after year one, between 2-5, between year 6-10 and after 10 years and more.
