The Tariq Bin Ziad School is a new addition to the QF portfolio of schools. The school has a strong history and is of national importance, having previously been run by the Amiri Diwan (Royal Office). It has recently been modernized with new facilities added, and is ready to be positioned as Qatar’s leading bilingual school with a strong focus on Arabic language, culture and heritage. The Amiri Diwan has partnered with Qatar Foundation to ensure that the school is operated to its potential and in line with this vision.
Accordingly the school will offer a bilingual coeducational PYP Curriculum with additional elements woven into the school curriculum to incubate Qatari ‘DNA’. There is no current faculty nor student body, and the facilities are ready to re-open with a completely new cohort of students in August 2019. Initially the school will offer classes from Pre-3 to Grade 1, and increase year-on-year until Grade 5.
The school offers an impressive campus surrounded by commercial and apartment buildings. There is a pleasant campus feel, attractively landscaped and supported by extensive outdoor playing areas, including an astro-turf football pitch, playground, basketball/hardcourt areas, and a synthetic running track. Sports facilities are further enhanced by an indoor gymnasium with natural lighting.
The original iconic school buildings (in a U-shape) have been retained and renovated giving a traditional feel, which is complemented by an interesting ‘circular shaped’ building housing the new gymnasium and a variety of supplementary service areas (cafeteria, prayer rooms, clinic, music, IT, specialized learning studios and Administration offices). The building is spacious and modern and makes excellent use of natural lighting. A separate ‘crescent shaped’ purpose-built block caters for the Early Years. These ‘new’ components offer a very modern learning environment, while the main school classrooms remain very traditional in style retaining the schools heritage.
The school is well positioned to address the need of families specifically seeking a high quality Arabic heritage focused style of education for their children.

- Coverage: 13 academic years for children who have not reached their 18th birthday; OR completed high school (whichever is later).
- Eligibility: children who are living with their family in Qatar and of 3-18 years of age or in senior year of high school studying a formally recognized curriculum approved by the Ministry of Education
