Established in 1972, the American Community School of Abu Dhabi (ACS) is a non-profit, U.S. accredited college preparatory school serving a culturally diverse student body. Our American, standards-based curriculum provides excellence in academics, the arts, athletics and service. ACS is preparing for a 2023 move to a new, state-of-the-art campus in Abu Dhabi on nearby Saadiyat Island.

Basic salary, starting at max step 10
BA, step 10 is USD 178,407; MA, step 5 is USD 192,584; MA+30 is USD 202,810

Accommodation

ACS secures housing for all staff. Singles: the benefit is worth USD 25,000/year; Couples: USD 33,000/year and Families: USD 38,000/year

Flights/Transport

Return airfare for each family member on the contract is paid out in February of each year.

Utilities

Paid in full by ACS

Furniture

USD 5,000 one-time settling-in allowance per family at the start of the contract.

Moving Allowance

USD 4,000/per head of household; USD 1,500 for spouse, and USD 680 per dependent

Dependent Opportunities

We do our best to hire spouses based on their skills and the availability of jobs at the school.

Medical

The premium is paid at 100% by ACS.

Dental

The premium is paid at 100% by ACS.

Disability

The premium is paid at 100% by ACS.

Other

Vision care is also provided. The premium is paid at 100% by ACS.

Retirement

ACS pays out 39 days of extra pay in June of each year towards your own retirement planning and 45 days thereafter. This is calculated on the basic salary.

Bonus

17.5% of the base salary for the first 2 years and 18.13% thereafter. This is paid out in September each year.
