International teachers
We had the pleasure of chatting with Amber McIlraith, an experienced and passionate international teacher. Amber successfully applied for the position of Elementary Teacher at Canadian International School Bangalore.
Amber was kind enough to share insights into her career, what attracted her to her new position, and her experience using the Schrole platform.
Career overview
With over 10 years in the international teaching industry, Amber has experience in teaching a wide range of learners, including English-language learners and exceptional learners who are integrated into the general education classroom.
“I have taught students from preschool age all the way up to high school, but my passion and strengths lie in the elementary classroom.
“Most of my teaching experiences have been abroad where I taught South Korean students in English language schools, diverse students from the United States and Latin American countries in a small private school in Costa Rica, Chinese high school students in a public school’s international program, and a diverse student population in an International school in Malaysia.”
When it comes to teaching, Amber puts a strong focus on social emotional learning, cultural responsiveness and technology integration.
“One of the most important themes that extends throughout any school year is creating a community where everyone feels welcome, safe, and respected.”
Discovering and applying for the role of Elementary Teacher at Canadian International School Bangalore

“I received an alert that a job matching my preferences had come up. The position suited my grade level preference, so I applied.
“I was attracted to the Canadian International School Bangalore thanks to it’s eco-friendly campus and infrastructure.”

Amber’s experience with Schrole
Originally recommended to the platform by colleagues, Amber has been with Schrole for two years.
When asked her favourite feature on Schrole, she mentioned our virtual job fairs.
“If you’re an international teacher considering Schrole, I highly recommend you sign up and attend their online job fairs! It’s your best chance to get your foot in the door at a first-choice school.”
The majority of our new international faculty now come to us through Schrole. In fact, our school exclusively uses Schrole as our global recruitment tool, having tried and stopped using other sites. This is how much faith we have in Schrole as a valuable resource with good customer service.
