About Kuwait Bilingual School 2:
Located in the heart of Jahra, Kuwait, Kuwait Bilingual School 2 (KBS2) is dedicated to fostering a nurturing and dynamic learning environment that encourages students to explore, develop, and thrive. We are seeking passionate and experienced PYP Homeroom Teachers for Grades 1-5 to join our vibrant educational community.

Position Overview:
As a PYP Homeroom Teacher at KBS2, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the minds and hearts of young learners. You will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing an instructional program that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. This is a full-time position starting in August 2024.

Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences, fostering a supportive and positive classroom environment for Grades 1-5.
Develop schemes of work and lesson plans aligning with PYP curriculum objectives specific to the needs of students in Jahra, Kuwait.
Assess and record students' progress, provide feedback, and communicate with parents and school counselors on pupils' achievements and areas needing attention.
Incorporate IB learner profile attributes into daily instruction and classroom culture, promoting a multicultural understanding and respect.
Collaborate with PYP coordinators and other teaching staff to ensure a coherent and comprehensive delivery of the curriculum across Grades 1-5.
Engage in professional development opportunities, including PYP workshops, to enhance teaching practices and contribute to the school-wide initiative for continuous improvement.
Utilize technology effectively to enrich the learning experience.
Create an atmosphere conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of children within the context of Jahra, Kuwait.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field (Master’s Degree preferred).
Certified teaching credentials relevant to Kuwait.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Description:
PYP Teacher
Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff, volunteers, and third parties must share this commitment. The PYP Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality, differentiated instruction within a safe and engaging learning environment, fostering scholars' academic and personal growth, while adhering to school policies, including child protection protocols, under the guidance of the Divisional Principal
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's Degree in a relevant subject area.
2. Valid teaching license or active progress toward obtaining one.
3. A minimum of two years teaching experience.
4. IB PYP experience preferred but not essential.
Performance Expectations
Teaching, Learning, Assessment, and Class Management
• Establish a well-managed, safe, and stimulating learning environment where active, differentiated learning and progress for all scholars is the norm.
• Realize actively the full potential of each scholar and promote ideals of excellence in his/her learning.
• Prepare and plan lessons in accordance with AERO Standards and the school curriculum, using the long-term and unit planners, meeting submission deadlines.
• Provide a clear structure for lessons, maintaining focus, pace, motivation, and challenge.
• Deliver instructional content that is standards-based and appropriate for the grade level.
• Maintain an instructional environment that is positive in nature.
• Mark and monitor scholars' work, provide informative feedback, and set targets for progress.
• Assess and record scholars' progress systematically, in accordance with the school’s assessment policy.
• Alert administration of any problems experienced by scholars, either academically or behaviorally, ensuring that accurate records are kept of any intervention strategies used.
• Prepare and present informative reports to parents.
• Utilize non-contact time during the school day for professional duties, such as lesson planning, parent conferences, and marking scholars’ work.
• Effectively use technology in the classroom.
• Keep up to date with new teaching methods and technology.
• Contribute to the development of the school curriculum.
• Be self-motivated and a life-long learner.
School Organization
• Be familiar with and adhere to all whole-school and PYP departmental procedures as outlined in school handbooks and policies.
• Follow the school organizational structure by reporting needs, problems, and concerns to the appropriate personnel. Respect the hierarchy of the school organization.
• Clearly understand and model the IB learner profile.
• Model and encourage multicultural awareness and understanding.
• Attend all faculty and team meetings.
• Complete all duties as assigned.
• Check emails regularly; at least before and after school.
• Participate in in-service workshops and other professional development organized by the school.
• Be aware of the teaching resources available.
• Keep inventories of all resources/equipment in their classroom, reporting loss/damage to their Team Leader.
• Inform administration in case of absence or late arrival.
• Substitute for absent colleagues upon request.
• Inform administration of any maintenance needs/health and safety issues.
• Undertake any additional responsibilities as reasonably requested by administration.
• Establish effective working relationships with all stakeholders.
• Maintain professional standards.
• Follow and adhere to the school's child protection protocols and procedures at all times.
• Strictly adhere to the guidelines and policies outlined in the staff handbook.

• Communicate regularly with parents using official school communication channels.
• Attend parent workshops and other after-school events, such as drama performances, art fairs, etc., as per school requirements.
• Maintain and respect confidentiality of all stakeholders.
• Contribute to the school’s extra-curricular program.
• Positively promote the school.
• Be supportive of the diversity of the school community.
• Maintain a positive school spirit.

Starting Salary Range

33,144$ annually for new graduates.

60%. In addition, all staff receive an end of contract bonus, equivalent to 2 weeks salary per year worked.
