Located in the vibrant community of Jahra, Kuwait, Kuwait Bilingual School 2 (KBS2) prides itself on fostering an engaging and dynamic learning environment. As an esteemed IB World School, we are committed to delivering the highest standards of international education through the Middle Years Programme (MYP). We are seeking a passionate and innovative MYP English and Individuals & Societies Teacher to join our diverse educational community in a unique split role, covering both subjects equally.

Position Overview:
The successful candidate will assume a dual role, dedicating 50% of their time to teaching MYP English and 50% to Individuals & Societies for the upcoming academic year. This position requires a dynamic educator who can inspire students and foster a love of learning in both language arts and the social sciences. This is a full-time position with responsibilities equally divided between teaching MYP English and Individuals & Societies.

Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging instructional activities in both English and Individuals & Societies that facilitate active learning experiences.
Develop lesson plans and curriculum materials in line with MYP requirements, ensuring coherence and relevance to the students in Jahra, Kuwait.
Assess and evaluate students' progress in English and Individuals & Societies, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
Incorporate IB learner profile attributes into daily instruction, promoting critical thinking, inquiry, and intercultural understanding.
Collaborate with colleagues in the MYP department to design interdisciplinary units that bridge English and Individuals & Societies, enhancing students’ learning experience.
Participate in professional development opportunities, including MYP workshops, and engage in continuous personal and professional growth.
Integrate technology effectively in teaching and learning processes in both subject areas.
Contribute to the school community through involvement in extracurricular activities and school-wide initiatives.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, English, History, or a closely related field (Master’s Degree preferred).
At least 2 years of teaching experience in the MYP or a similar middle years program, with expertise in both English and Individuals & Societies.
Certified teaching credentials relevant to Kuwait.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage a diverse group of learners.
Strong planning and organizational skills, with a creative approach to teaching and curriculum development.
A commitment to innovative and multicultural education.
Proficiency in using educational technology to enhance learning.
Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse school community.
Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Starting Salary Range

33,144$ annually for new graduates.

Savings Potential

60%. In addition, all staff receive an end of contract bonus, equivalent to 2 weeks salary per year worked.

One bedroomed flat for single teachers, two bedrooms for married staff.

Flights/Transport

One annual economy flight to point of origin annually.

All utilities paid for except internet.

Moving Allowance

330$ baggage allowance. 500$ settling in allowance.

1 school-aged child 100% free tuition and the 2nd child 50%.

Bonus

100KD per month extra will be paid for Education related PHD Degree (including the master degree allowance)
50KD per month extra will be paid for Education related Master’s Degrees
30KD per month extra will be paid for one year teaching diplomas after BA / BSc
