CP Physics explores Classical Newtonian Mechanics, covering Linear Motion, Projectile Motion, Dynamics, Newton’s Laws, Work, Power/Energy, Momentum, and Circular Motion. The year-long course includes an independent investigation in industrial design, sports medicine, or astronomy. Throughout, we apply Science and Engineering Practices and Crosscutting Concepts to understand forces, energy, and waves, integrating engineering design for real-world applications. Algebra skills are vital for this course, which prepares students for engineering or medical/scientific careers, emphasizing algebraic approaches distinct from calculus-based courses.
Environmental Science is an interdisciplinary course integrating biology, earth science, and chemistry. Through inquiry-based learning and laboratory investigations, students explore topics such as environmental systems, natural disasters, biodiversity, pollution, and resource cycles. The curriculum addresses national and global environmental complexities, emphasizing Science and Engineering Practices. Students gain essential tools to understand environmental challenges and solutions, guided by embedded standards for Inquiry and Technology & Engineering within Earth Systems, The Living World, Human Population, Water and Land Resources, Energy Resources and Consumption, Pollution and Waste Production, Global Change, and Civic Responsibility.

Accommodation
Teachers receive a housing contribution which is paid monthly. Many teachers choose to supplement their housing allowance, depending on their chosen location and style of housing. Teaching couples each receive their own housing allowance as individuals. Teachers rent apartments independently of the school but our accommodation team offers ample assistance to new recruits, including a website of available options.
Flights/Transport
Economy class tickets are provided for the teacher’s arrival to Cairo at the beginning of the contract. For returning staff, a set allowance for a round trip ticket to the nominated ‘home’ destination (as per contract) is provided during the summer break, for non-returning staff a set allowance for a one way ticket is provided. The allowance is based on the average prices of a round trip ticket to various airports in the country of origin.

Staff that are new to Cairo are entitled to a nominal settling in allowance upon their first arrival in Cairo; some local currency cash for incidentals
