We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced HS/DP Physics/Biology Teacher to enrich our educational community.
Position Overview:
The HS/DP Physics Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality instructional experiences in Physics/Biology to our high school students, including those enrolled in the IB Diploma Programme. This full-time position involves teaching Physics/Biology to students with varying levels of skills and abilities, preparing them for the IB examinations, and fostering a deep understanding of Physics/Biology principles and applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging lessons in Physics/Biology that cater to the needs of all students, including DP candidates.
Develop curriculum materials and assessment strategies in accordance with IB DP guidelines and standards.
Evaluate student progress through both formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback.
Foster a classroom environment that encourages inquiry, critical thinking, and a passion for science.
Guide and support students in their Internal Assessments (IA) and Extended Essays (EE) in Physics/Biology, where applicable.
Maintain up-to-date records of student progress and achievement and communicate effectively with parents and guardians.
Collaborate with the DP coordinator and other faculty members to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive delivery of the DP curriculum.
Participate in professional development opportunities to further enhance teaching skills and IB program knowledge.
Engage in school-wide initiatives and contribute to the school community beyond the classroom.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Physics, Biology, Education, or a related field, with a strong background in Physics and/or Biology.
Certified teaching credentials, preferably with specialization in Physics and/or Biology.
A minimum of 2 years of experience teaching Physics/Biology at the high school level, with experience in the IB Diploma Programme highly desirable.
Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate students in a dynamic and engaging learning environment.
Strong understanding of the pedagogical theories and practices inherent to the IB DP and experience in curriculum development.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, colleagues, and the wider school community.
Proficiency in using technology to enhance learning and teaching in Physics/Biology.
Commitment to continuous professional development and to staying abreast of the latest developments in Physics/Biology education.
