Job Summary:
The Classroom Teacher is responsible for creating and delivering engaging lessons to diverse groups of students at all levels. They promote enthusiasm for learning and for various subjects while adhering to curriculum standards. The Classroom Teacher collects and reports on correct and detailed records of student performance and maintains classroom order.
Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development and Delivery:
• Create lesson plans that align with the national curriculum standards and educational objectives.
• Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that cater to the diverse needs and learning styles of students.
• Utilize various teaching methods, instructional resources, and technology to enhance student understanding and participation.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active learning and student engagement.
Student Performance Assessment:
• Regularly assess and evaluate student performance using appropriate assessment tools and methods.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of students' academic progress, attendance, and behavior.
• Analyze assessment data to identify areas of improvement and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
• Provide constructive feedback to students to promote their growth and development.
Classroom Management:
• Establish and maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Set clear expectations for behavior and academic performance and communicate them effectively to students.
• Effectively manage student behavior using positive discipline strategies and establish consistent classroom routines.
• Address individual student needs and concerns promptly and appropriately.
Collaboration and Professional Development:
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop and implement effective teaching strategies, programs, and initiatives.
• Attend and actively participate in faculty meetings, professional development workshops, and training sessions.
• Stay updated with current educational trends, research, and best practices to enhance teaching effectiveness.
• Engage in ongoing self-reflection and professional growth to improve instructional practices.
Qualifications and Criteria:
• Required teaching certification for Qatar MoEHE (B Ed, PGCE, PGDE)
• Is deeply passionate about teaching and learning.
• Approaches school life with enthusiasm and a commitment to ‘make a difference’ to the children at Loydence Academy.
• Is innovative, flexible, creative and enthusiastic.
• Develops exciting, innovative lesson plans which meet national curriculum models.
• Manages the diverse ability levels of students, embracing each child as an individual.
• Adapts curriculum to fit student needs while maintaining overall class progress.
• Possesses and continually develops working knowledge of national curriculum program and frameworks.
• Assesses and records student development, while identifying problem areas and areas which need attention and improvement.
• Provides a safe, positive learning environment for students.
• Communicates with any and all other staff members who engage with students.
• Communicates with parents as per school guidelines on a regular basis, including presenting student progress reports and informing parents of requisite student discipline.
• Maintains high levels of behaviour among students, while promoting safety and compliance with school rules and guidelines.
• Attends (and contributes to) continuous professional development.
• Attends and takes part in school meetings on curriculum, organisation and guidelines.
• Contribute to all school activities.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in written form.
• The ability to work on a regular and punctual basis.
• Meet professional teacher education requirements of school.
