No. of contract days: from 180 to 190 days, depending on role

Starting Salary Range
Annual adjustments to basic salary is subject to satisfactory performance and market conditions
Max salary for new hires is equivalent to 13 years of experience
Foreign teachers receive 10% gratuity upon contract completion
Those hired on local terms receive a Local Hire Loyalty Allowance after 3, 5, 7 and 9 years of service
Allowance ranging from SGD 528 to 2643/m is payable to all responsibility holders
Vice-Principal and Principal salary scales are separate
Taxes

Savings Potential
In addition to significant opportunities for travel, a single teacher is capable of saving around SGD 3000 per month (allowing for local entertainment and regular travel).
A teaching couple is able to save close to SGD 8000 per month (most live on one salary and save the other).
Accommodation
New teachers hired on overseas terms are offered 13 nights of hotel accommodation on arrival
Teachers will enter a personal lease and are responsible for all costs associated with the rental. The school offers an interest free loan for security deposit and advance rent
Only foreign teachers whose spouse is not receiving a housing allowance from his/her employer is entitled to housing allowance, which is reviewed every six months in May for July starters and November for Jan starters
Flights/Transport
The teacher, and all dependents, receive flights at the start and end of each contract period. The initial contract is 3 years, while subsequent contracts are 2 years. Flights are to the closest international airport in the teacher's home country, using a reputable national carrier. HR will confirm this process on appointment.
Utilities
Staff are responsible for all utilities costs.
Furniture
Most teachers rent accommodation that is either fully furnished or partially furnished.
Moving Allowance
All foreign teachers receive a Baggage Allowance of SGD 2,000 at the start of employment and the same or more at the end of employment, depending on the number of years of service.
Dependent Opportunities
2 free places for legal dependents who attend SJI International (subject to availability of places).
SJI International is only able to support students with specific mild learning support needs.
Medical
Local teachers are covered by a comprehensive local medical insurance.
Foreign teacher are covered by a comprehensive Expat medical insurance.
Dental
Limited dental coverage is included in the medical coverage.
