Mingwan is a non-profit, private bilingual school offering education from kindergarten through primary and secondary levels. It is located in the Dachan Bay ‘Internet+’ Future Technology City in Shenzhen, a global city in China known for its innovation and rapid development in technology and finance. The school is established by the Mingwan Education Foundation, jointly initiated by the Chen Yidan Foundation, Tencent, and Shanghai Jingzhi. The three founding entities will leverage their strengths to support the school’s creation and continue to drive its growth and innovation.
The school's expansive 40,996 square meter footprint is complemented by a planned construction area of 59,000 square meters. It comprises three state-of-the-art interconnected academic buildings, a dedicated kindergarten facility, a multifunctional sports complex with both indoor and outdoor spaces, and a residential hall designed to accommodate 600 students, all masterfully envisioned by Perkins&Will, a leading global design firm.

Tencent, with its commitment to Sustainable Social Value Innovation as embodied in hundreds of social value initiatives throughout China, some of which will provide experiential learning extensions for Mingwan students; with its network of talented scientists and mathematicians through the Xplorer Prize and The New Cornerstone Investigator Program; with its worldwide institutional relationships such as the Columbia University Climate Institute; with its proprietary large language model, Hunyuan, which we are working with for individualized support to each Mingwan student, staff member and parent.
