A WARM WELCOME FROM ISSP

ISSP was Vietnam’s first and only international school for Early Years and Elementary children. We opened in 2011 and are located in the Binh Thanh district of Ho Chi Minh City. ISSP welcomes both local and international families with over 30 nationalities represented throughout the student body.

Over the years, ISSP has experienced considerable growth in all aspects of school life. From creating a dynamic leadership team, committing to an ambitious facility redevelopment plan by modernizing learning environments to meet the needs of learners to embedding a strong curriculum that engages and challenges students every day.

In 2018, ISSP became fully accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). We are proud to be accredited by these two globally recognized Educational Organizations.

In June 2023 ISSP became an authorized IB World School for the Primary Years Program (PYP) by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO), ISSP stands at the forefront of international education.

These accreditations and authorization validates that we are meeting robust international standards as a truly international school, as well as provides us with feedback and frameworks for continual improvement.

The students, and their families, are at the center of all that we do at ISSP. We take pride in building a strong community whilst supporting every child to reach their individual potential through a personalized learning experience.

Taxes

All salary, allowances, benefits and bonuses (if applicable) paid to the employee are stated as gross amounts, before the calculations and deductions of Personal Income Tax (PIT) in accordance with the Tax Laws of Vietnam. The date for determining taxable income shall be at the date on which the employer pays the salary to the employee, which is monthly.

Our highly able Human Resources team will support short listed / offered candidates with a comprehensive taxation overview.

Accommodation

Overseas hired teachers are provided with a monthly housing allowance of 20,000,000VND for a single teacher and 28,000,000VND for a married teaching couple, which is paid together with the monthly salary. Teachers are responsible for their accommodation arrangements with appropriate support from the estate’s agents and School’s Human Resources department. The value of the housing allowance is subject to tax in Vietnam, tax shall be the responsibility of the employee. The school will send additional advice and guidance to assist in your house search, prior to your arrival.

Settling- in Allowance:
In addition to the week of temporary accommodation, newly hired overseas teachers will also be provided with a lump-sum settling-in allowance of 16,000,000VND per single teacher and 21,000,000VND per teaching couple. These amounts are taxable to the employee.

Flights/Transport

The contractual air ticket entitlement for ISSP teachers is a one-way economy fare from your home of record, or the country where you currently reside, to Ho Chi Minh City at the beginning of the contract and a return flight at the end of the contract. Additionally, return flights to the agreed home base will be provided on an annual basis. The School obtains quotations of these flights to determine an appropriate airline and fare.

Moving Allowance

ISSP provides all teachers with an unaccompanied sea-freight door-to-door shipment of personal effects at the beginning of the initial employment contract. The maximum amount for a single teacher is 21,000,000VND, and 32,000,000VND for a teaching couple. At the end of the final employment contract, ISSP will pay a maximum shipment cost of 21,000,000VND, and 32,000,000VND for a teaching couple for a teaching couple.
The shipping allowance represents the total shipping entitlement for all items (personal, household and professional items).

Dependent Opportunities

The School can provide:
Visa and health insurance for the period of contract
Tuition for up to 2 children for elementary and early years levels for the period of contract. *Please note this is limited.
50% flights for dependents (overseas expatriate contract)

Medical

Private non-compulsory medical insurance is provided to all expatriate employees and their recognized dependents, to coincide with the employment period stated in the employment contract, or other specific start date requested by the Head of School. This is an international cover (excluding the United States of America, Singapore and Hong Kong).

Overall plan limit is up to 1,200,000 USD per person.

State Compulsory Health Insurance
Under Vietnamese law, an expatriate employee is required to contribute as per the Vietnamese Laws of his/her monthly basic gross salary to the State compulsory health insurance fund, The cap for making contribution to the State compulsory health insurance is normally adjusted by the Government every year.
