Delta Global School

Delta Global School is a new 6 - 12 day school in Hanoi Vietnam that started in the fall of 2019 with a pioneer cohort of 6th grade Vietnamese students. This bilingual school is being developed in a unique partnership with Riverdale Country School (https://www.riverdale.edu/)— one of America’s preeminent Pre-K - Grade 12 college preparatory independent schools in New York City — along with the philanthropic support of local businesses. The school will add a grade per year until the first graduating class in the summer of 2026.

Delta Global School, a Grade 6 through Grade 12 “school within a school,” provides Vietnamese students and families with a rigorous academic program, a curated set of co-curricular activities, an intense immersive English language experience, and a focus on the development of character strengths within a dynamic entrepreneurial environment. DGS provides a thriving dynamic academic environment that challenges its diverse community members to learn more effectively, preparing them both for university study and for life. At the same time, we encourage our students to become healthier, more thoughtful, and more ethical individuals with agency over their own lives. We are about transformative growth, the “delta” in young people from different backgrounds. THE SCHOOL
The strategic partnership with Riverdale Country School draws on its historic focus on the intellectual and character development of children, and the nurturing of future leaders.

CURRICULUM
Delta Global School will create a contemporary academic program similar to the course of study at Riverdale in a Vietnamese context and with a global vision. It will offer a challenging and rigorous program taught by Vietnamese and international teachers. The curriculum will include immersive English language learning integrated into challenging and innovative disciplinary and interdisciplinary studies. Delta Global School will meet all Vietnamese government requirements, while also providing an exciting array of co-curricular offerings in arts, technology, experiential education, and athletics, all in English. The high school program will offer several academic tracks including the AP Capstone and special classes in entrepreneurship, design, scientific research, and an array of internship opportunities. Students will be prepared to apply to the best international colleges and universities as well as those in Vietnam.

STUDENTS
Admission to Delta Global School is highly competitive and seeks to find highly capable students from all backgrounds in Vietnam, who have academic promise and also demonstrate good character while being willing to work collaboratively with their peers.
The school is also building its university counseling program as we continue to expand. Delta Global School will be the first school in Vietnam and in Southeast Asia to offer 50% of its students’ financial aid to support the costs of their studies.

CAMPUS
Delta Global School is currently housed within the state-of-the art Dewey School campus. DGS owns land in Hanoi and is planning the building of its own campus. The campus will encourage a practice that will foster in its students the entrepreneurial attitudes and collaborative skills that are core to its founding by a group of international educational innovators. The state-of-the-art facility will creatively use space to allow individual study, small group work, and traditional classroom configurations that emphasize both direct instruction and collaborative learning. The pedagogy employed will be soundly based on best practices from around the world, as well as current research on the science of learning.
