Chapel is a private, Catholic school founded in 1947 by the Oblate Fathers of Mary Immaculate. It is dedicated to excellence in education, as evidenced by the impressive list of college acceptances each year. The school is accredited by NEASC (New England Association of Schools and Colleges), the International Baccalaureate Organization, and the Brazilian Ministry of Education and is a member of the Association of American Schools in South America, the Association of American Schools in Brazil, the National Catholic Education Association, and the College Board.

Chapel School offers pre-school, elementary, and high school curricula with American and Brazilian programs and the International Baccalaureate in high school. As an international school, Chapel educates students from every continent and over 30 different countries. Religious backgrounds are just as diverse, and families of all faiths and creeds are enrolled. Our students are motivated and talented, and they are often the primary reason cited by teachers in their decision to renew their contracts. All of our students are college-bound, with about 50% attending post-secondary schools in the United States or Europe and the other 50% attending universities in Brazil or South America. The stellar universities to which they are accepted recognize their academic excellence. The more recent acceptances include Boston College, Georgia Institute of Technology, University of Southern California, New York University, Babson College, and others across the globe.

Involvement in extra-curricular activities is of utmost importance, and students enrich their academic experience through participation in sports, drama, publications, art, Knowledge Bowl, and MUN. The average class size in elementary is 26, and in high school, class size ranges from 10 to 26. Chapel teachers are committed to our students' intellectual, social, emotional, physical, and moral growth. Chapel follows the North American school calendar, with the school year beginning in late July/August and ending in June. A five to six-week break occurs in December/January and again in June/July. These can vary yearly according to the school calendar.

Chapel's facilities are idyllic in a quiet, residential setting with attractively landscaped grounds. The school has two separate libraries, a Learning Innovation Hub in elementary, a computer lab and a Makers Space in high school, a gymnasium, a multi-purpose sports court, a sports field, three age-appropriate playgrounds, a multi-purpose auditorium, and a cafeteria. As an American international school, Chapel prepares its students for achievement on a global level. The community works together to ensure the success of each of its members and takes pride in the fact that we are an extended family.
