ASD is a vibrant school community of exceptional education professionals recruited from around the world. Our faculty are committed to delivering an excellent American-style education in an international setting. We currently employ approximately 375 faculty, support staff, and administrators whose main aim is to achieve excellent classroom outcomes for our students. The campus is centrally located in Doha and is a state of the art facility second to none in Qatar. It provides our faculty and students with scope to excel in all areas of our educational program: in the classroom, gymnasium, swimming pool, library, track and stage. ASD provides housing to faculty in a purpose built, modern residential compound in proximity to the school campus and city.

There is no personal income tax in Qatar.
Savings Potential
Single Teacher approximately $25,000 per annum

Accommodation
ASD provides housing in a purpose built, modern residential compound in proximity to the school campus and city. Accommodation is allocated based on household size comprising: two or three bedroom apartment or a four bedroom villa. All units come with basic furnishings. Electricity and water usage costs are covered by the school.
The compound has a range of facilities including swimming pool, gymnasium, tennis, padel and squash courts as well as a restaurant and small grocery.
Flights/Transport
Annual economy airfare allowance is provided to the home of record for the faculty member and legally authorized dependents. In addition, generous leave entitlements are also available.
Moving Allowance
Contribution toward shipping of personal effects is provided at commencement and conclusion of employment. In addition, a relocation allowance is paid on arrival to ASD.
Dependent Opportunities
Faculty tuition benefit applies as follows:
Single teacher – up to two authorised dependents to attend ASD
Teaching couple – up to three authorised dependents to attend ASD
Medical
Faculty are provided with major international medical insurance including dental and vision coverage.
Other
Faculty are provided with life and disability insurance.
Retirement
ASD offers a range of retirement options to staff. U.S. citizens can elect to contribute to the school’s 401(k) plan. Alternately, faculty can contribute to a retirement fund where ASD contributes 10% of base salary annually. Employees make a minimum co-contribution of 2%.
