Number of Contract Days

183 instructional days; 3 Professional Development days; 5 orientation days

Starting Salary Range

Newly qualified teacher begins at starting scale point - US $ 34600
Maximum Entry Point for teachers is Step 7 (7 or more years of experience). Salary will be US $ 44200 and teacher will move one step up each year with approx. US $ 1300 increase every year.

Taxes

Salary offered is net of income tax.

Savings Potential

A teaching couple will comfortably save one salary as the cost of living is low compared to North American or European countries.
A single teacher may save 50-60% of the salary depending on lifestyle.

Accommodation

Accommodation is a two to three bedroom apartment in a gated community with all basic furniture and furnishings; however, if a teacher opts to find their own accommodation, the school will provide an housing allowance up to a limit along with the basic furniture and furnishings.

Flights/Transport

One way economy flight cost at the time of joining, a round-trip economy ticket every summer and one way economy flight costs at the end of the employment for the teacher and dependents.

Daily transport to school is provided by the school up to December in the first year of the contract. The teacher may continue to use the school transport for a fee beyond December or commute on their own. School offers a car loan up to US$ 5000 for the teacher.

Utilities

Utility bills are reimbursed or paid to the relevant service provider up to the limits specified towards electricity, water, cable TV and internet usage every month.

Moving Allowance

At the commencement of employment, USD 2000 per teacher plus USD 1000 each for dependents.
Teaching couple get USD 3000 plus USD 1000 each for dependents.
Similar amounts are applicable at the end of the employment.

Dependent Opportunities

Teacher or teaching couple will receive a waiver from payment of fees (Tuition Fees , Development Fees and security deposit) for maximum 2 children enrolled in school. The rest of the fees/expenses namely, application, transport, cafeteria, technology, field trips, exam fees etc. will be payable by the teacher.

Medical

Health insurance cover - Worldwide, excluding North America (USA and Canada). However, a travel insurance policy for emergencies covering North America will be provided to American and Canadian nationalities.
There are quite a few International hospitals in Bangalore that provide excellent health care. The school also assists for emergencies.

Retirement

Teacher will be contributing 6% of their salary towards provident fund and the school will contribute an equivalent sum. This fund can normally be withdrawn by the teacher after attaining 58 years of age; however, teachers from some countries will be able to withdraw the funds after the end of employment irrespective of the age if the relevant country has Social Security Agreement (SSA) with India.
