Shanghai United International School has over a dozen schools in Shanghai, as well as four other schools in locations within mainland China.
Hongqiao Campus is in enviably close proximity to the city centre of Shanghai. The campus is composed of two sections, Primary (elementary) School and Middle School.
The Primary School section of the campus is an IB World School which runs the IB PYP programme from grades 1-5 and feeds directly into the Middle School. Our long-running PYP is a firmly established and reputable programme, providing teachers with official IB training as well as Philosophy for Children (P4C) training to implement our programme successfully. We utilize a co-teaching model, with 1 foreign teacher and 1 Chinese teacher working collaboratively alongside each other, bringing together an East Meets West philosophy. We welcome all teachers to apply, and will provide PYP training to successfully implement the programme.
The Middle School runs the Cambridge IGCSE programme from grades 6-8 and feeds directly into the High School campus located roughly 3km away.
Hongqiao Middle School is a well-resourced, private school catering to both Chinese and expatriate students. We have a large expatriate teaching body, and the school leadership team is a co-leadership system, comprised of a Western Head Teacher and a Chinese Head Teacher.
As a school we pride ourselves on professional development opportunities. We run regular training in P4C, Cambridge and training from other external providers. Our organization also provide two free school places for dependents alongside competitive salary, housing, flight and medical benefits.
