About: The International School of Penang (Uplands)
The International School of Penang (Uplands) is one of the oldest and most established international schools in Malaysia. A not-for-profit, co-educational and non-denominational day and boarding school for students aged between 4-19 years old, Uplands is CIS accredited.
The Uplands school curriculum incorporates the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) for Years 1 to 6, is transitioning to MYP (Candidate School) for Years 7 to 9, and a wide range of subject choices for the IGCSE (Years 10 to 11). In Years 12 and 13 Uplands students complete the highly regarded International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).
Ethos: The International School of Penang (Uplands)
German, French, Spanish, Mandarin and Malay are among the language subjects offered at The International School of Penang (Uplands), and there is a strong Student Support programme for pupils for whom English is not their first language.
Uplands is currently in the process of building a more concept-based curriculum that integrates inquiry-based learning opportunities alongside diverse assessment practices, to provides all students with an opportunity to find and demonstrate success.
