George Washington Academy (GWA) is a leading nonprofit, independent American international school located in Casablanca, Morocco, serving students from Pre-K through Grade 12. Established in 1998, the school offers a rigorous American curriculum enhanced by a focus on multilingualism, integrating English, French, and Arabic language instruction.

GWA is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (MSA) and recognized by the Moroccan Ministry of Education, making it one of the few schools in Morocco to offer both an American Diploma and the globally respected International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma.

With a diverse student body of approximately 830 students representing over 30 nationalities, GWA fosters an inclusive and multicultural learning environment. Its commitment to academic excellence and character development ensures that graduates are well-prepared for success at top universities around the world.

Ethos: George Washington Academy

GWA’s teaching philosophy is built on equipping minds and building character, emphasizing the development of multilingual, lifelong learners who model integrity and honor cultural diversity. The school’s curriculum incorporates the Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) model, ensuring that all subject areas support language acquisition and cater to the needs of a diverse student population.

In addition to its academic rigor, GWA prioritizes values-based education, promoting traits such as integrity, empathy, respect, and open-mindedness. Students are encouraged to engage in critical thinking, inquiry, and research to solve complex problems, fostering a mindset of innovation and adaptability. Through service-learning and community engagement, students are empowered to contribute meaningfully to both Moroccan society and the global community.

I have been a school-level user of Schrole for recruiting for the last three hiring cycles and have found the platform they provide to be intuitive and comprehensive. The user interface stands out from others in the market as a crisp interface with the right level of features included at the right places. For me, the top two features are the ability to create school-specific application questions for applicants, and the availability of a short and long form applicant documentation PDF. If you’re looking for a recruiting platform, I highly recommend considering Schrole.
