About: ENKA Schools

ENKA Schools is a private coeducational, Pre-K to 12 day school located in Istanbul, Turkey. Since its establishment in 1996, ENKA Schools has grown to accommodate approximately 1250 students from PreK to Grade 12.

ENKA Schools’ first graduating class was the Class of 2008. All of our students continue on to higher education with 80-90% of graduates matriculating at universities abroad.

ENKA Schools is fully authorised by the IBO as an IB World School and is authorised to offer the IB Primary Years Program, IB Middle Years Program, and IB Diploma Program. ENKA is authorised by the College Board to offer AP courses. In addition, ENKA Schools is internationally accredited by CIS and NEASC. The most recent re-accreditation was 2023.

Facilities: ENKA Schools

The campus of ENKA Schools is situated in the heart of the new business centre of Istanbul. It is located on the European side of Istanbul, approximately halfway down the Bosphorus, on 16 acres within the ENKA Sports Facility.

The range of facilities exhibits the special importance ENKA places on contemporary education, sports, and the arts. In addition to modern, purpose-built classrooms, the school’s academic facilities include three full science laboratories, an auditorium, three libraries totalling 40,000 volumes, computer laboratories, and a multimedia room. The campus also features an amphitheatre, an exhibition centre, a music hall, an art gallery, a full gymnasium and fitness centre, twelve tennis courts, two indoor pools, an outdoor Olympic sized pool, and a tartan track and field complex.

Benefits: ENKA Schools

Taxes: Salary net of taxation. You will not pay any income tax on your salary. The school pays it for you. (Savings of about 35% to 40%). Your salary will be paid in US Dollars, which means that you benefit each month from exchange rates differences. The school pays a nominal increase for masters, PhD, and B1 or higher levels of Turkish.

Rent and Utilities: A housing allowance is provided as well as a utility allowance to help cover electricity, water, and gas. This sum is not taxed. You are free to choose where the prefer to live. You are supported in finding accommodation, provided with a standard bi-lingual rent contract to give to your landlord, and supported through the process.

Settling In Allowance: You will receive a settling in allowance upon arrival to Turkey to immediately assist you in setting up your home. This sum is not taxed.

Start/End Flights: At the start and end of your contract, the school will provide a flight allowance for you, your co-residing spouse, and your co-residing children under 18 years old if you are hired from outside of Turkey.

Annual flights: The school will provide an annual flight allowance to your home of record for you, your co-residing spouse, and your co-residing children under 18. This allowance is paid at the start of each school year and can be used as/when preferred.

Moving Allowance: Baggage allowance at the start of the contract for you and your co-residing spouse, and your co-residing children under 18 years old if you are moving to Turkey as a direct result of this contract.

Medical: Health Insurance -Comprehensive private medical insurance is provided for you and each of your children under 18.

Life Insurance: Life insurance is provided.

Renter’s Insurance: lnsurance against loss of property in the event of fire or theft.

Work Permit: The school conducts all the necessary processing to obtain your work permit. The school pays the associated fees.

Residency Permit: The school conducts all the necessary processing to obtain a residency permit for you, your spouse, and your dependents. The school pays the associated fees. The school will pay the associated fees and will continue to pay these fees for the duration of your employment.

Retirement: All state mandated social security premiums required by Turkish law are paid by the school. If your country has a reciprocal social security agreement with Turkey, you may benefit. There are currently 35 countries who have reciprocal agreements.
