About: Chinese International School (CIS)
Chinese International School (CIS) was founded in 1983 as a small “East meets West” school grounded with roots in Hong Kong and has now grown to a vibrant community of over 1,500 students aged 4-18.
Located in Hong Kong, with a Study Centre for Year 10 students in Hangzhou, CIS’ mission to empower students to discover new paths, build bridges, and flourish on a life’s journey in pursuit of excellence, commitment to service, and stewardship of our future is supported by passionate educators, skilled administrators, dedicated operational staff, and a caring community.
In Primary, equal time is devoted to the two languages of English and Chinese (Mandarin) and much of the school-developed curriculum is delivered in both languages.
In Secondary, CIS offers the IB MYP curriculum in Year 7-9, a unique school-developed curriculum in Year 10-11, and the IBDP curriculum in Year 12-13. Chinese is mainly taught as one among the subject areas, while also being foregrounded through the dual-language Chinese History programme (Years 7-9), the two-week China Experience Programme (Years 7-9) and the year-long CIS Hangzhou programme (Year 10).
An alumni community of more than 5,000 spread across the globe includes leaders in law, finance, academia, science, technology, the arts, and beyond. The CIS relationship is one for a lifetime and our alums return regularly to school to share their wisdom with the latest generation of students.

Chinese International School (CIS) is located on the top of Braemar Hill, a quiet residential area noted for its many schools. The school derives much of its sense of community from its single campus focused around three central courtyards.

It was opened in 2013 and boasts academic and residential facilities in line with top boarding schools around the world.

I have been a school-level user of Schrole for recruiting for the last three hiring cycles and have found the platform they provide to be intuitive and comprehensive. The user interface stands out from others in the market as a crisp interface with the right level of features included at the right places. For me, the top two features are the ability to create school-specific application questions for applicants, and the availability of a short and long form applicant documentation PDF. If you’re looking for a recruiting platform, I highly recommend considering Schrole.
