Cayman International School (CIS), established in 1994 as Faulkner Academy, is a leading private, non-profit American/International school located in the Cayman Islands. Serving students from two years old through Grade 12, CIS offers a college preparatory education designed to meet the needs of a diverse multinational community. Governed by International Schools Services (ISS), CIS is driven by its mission to connect, inspire, and serve, fostering a positive and inclusive school culture.

CIS provides its students with the choice of pursuing either the CIS Diploma or the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, ensuring global recognition of their achievements. Its diverse student body, representing over 40 nationalities, is a testament to the school’s commitment to cultural diversity and global citizenship. CIS boasts a world-class 22-acre campus featuring 206,000 square feet of indoor learning spaces spread across four buildings. These include dedicated facilities for early childhood, elementary, middle, and high school students, each designed to cater to their specific educational needs. The campus features state-of-the-art classrooms, two STEAM labs, two music rooms, two art rooms, and specialized spaces such as a black box theatre, amphitheatre, and fitness room.

Sports and recreational facilities are equally impressive, with a FIFA 2-star artificial turf soccer field, two basketball courts, two tennis courts, and a swimming pool. The high school building, opened in 2021, exemplifies innovative design with flexible commons areas, serene study spaces, and purpose-built art and makerspace studios. Benefits: Cayman International School

Number of Contract Days: Typically 185 teaching days and 10 Professional Learning days. 197-day contract (typically 195 working days) for teacher and teacher assistant positions; 212-day contract for office positions.

Taxes: There are no income taxes in the Cayman Islands.

Flights/Transport: Arrival flight reimbursed for each full time faculty member hired from overseas and one dependent permanently residing in Grand Cayman. Flight reimbursement for economy tickets from home of record. Annual travel allowance – CI$ 1,000 (USD $1,200).

Moving Allowance: CI$2000 (USD$2400) settling-in stipend for teachers hired from overseas at start of contract.

Dependent Opportunities: Teachers receive tuition benefits for dependent children – 100% – First Child, 50% – Second Child, 20% – Third Child.

Medical: School covers 100% of premium fee for standard plan. Coverage includes dental and vision. Enhanced plans available that involve employee contribution.

Disability: Long Term Disability coverage.

Other: Wellness allowance – CI$ 500 (USD $600).

Retirement: 5% matching to pension plan after 9 months of employment at CIS for non-Caymanians. Pension plan starts on first day for people who have Caymanian status.
