About: Ascend International School
Ascend International School is part of Kasegaon Education Society (KES), a leading educational organisation in India. Established in Maharashtra in 1945 by Shri Rajarambapu Patil, KES was founded by a dedicated group of individuals who were deeply concerned about the lack of educational opportunities for the youth of Maharashtra.
Determined to improve the low literacy rate in the state, KES has established a series of schools, colleges and vocational training institutes over the last 60 years, including Ascend. These educational institutes are comprised of Primary, Middle, Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools, Arts & Commerce Colleges, Institutes of Technology, Institutes of Business Administration, Vocational Training, Dairy Management, Nursing, Pharmacy and Industrial Training.
Currently, Kasegaon Society runs 46 institutes, employs over 1,100 people and provides education to more than 26,000 students. In their quest to continue to provide quality education to their community, KES established Ascend International School in the Bandra Kurla Complex of Mumbai.
Ethos: Ascend International School
Ascend International School delivers a rigorous and collaborative 21st century education where students discover a lifelong love of learning. Ascend’s innovative program is grounded in contemporary educational research. Through individualised education, Ascend fosters academic excellence and cultivate self-confident, creative, reflective, and analytical thinkers. Ascend students are motivated to act in the selfless tradition of the Indian heart, actively contributing to their expanding global community.
Ascend believes education to be a spiral process by which new information is assimilated with existing knowledge. To that end, Ascend structures classrooms and curricula to generate questions and inspire curious minds. Teachers model and require inquiry based thinking, planning, implementation and reflection as part of every lesson. Through this process, students learn how to investigate topics thoroughly and gain a comprehensive understanding of each subject area.
As students at Ascend learn to innovate, create and evolve beyond their current understandings, it’s crucial that they maintain the core values and rich traditions that are true to the Indian culture Thinking of others before oneself and working to help others succeed are values that are reinforced and demonstrated daily at Ascend.
