Job Description
Provides professional classroom instruction at the early childhood level. Will specialize in multiple subjects at a specific grade level. Will participate in teaching teams and contribute to the overall school program.
Major Responsibilities
• Performs daily classroom teaching activities and participates in planning of instructional practices that best support student learning
• Defines classroom achievement goals, learning management system, uses technology, varies instructional methodology, plans individualized course of study for students
• Works in cooperation with other teachers and curriculum coordinators; utilizes "best practices" of instruction and curriculum materials as prescribed by KAUST Schools' administration
• Evaluates student progress using research- based formative and summative assessment practices on a regular basis
• Communicates students' progress to parents
• Learns and grows as a professional teacher
• Follows established policies and school guidelines
Other Responsibilities
• Designs instruction consistent with KAUST Schools' program goals and use instructional strategies that are consistent with the mission of the KAUST Schools
• Creates and maintain a respectful and positive learning environment
• Uses a variety of formative and summative assessment strategies
• Employs technology to support student learning
• Collaborates with colleagues to enrich instruction and professional practice
Competencies
• Knowledge of content, instructional strategies and student development
• Excellent command of oral and written English language
• Communicates clearly and accurately with various audiences
• Develops caring and respectful relationships
Qualifications
• Minimum two years of International Baccalaureate (IB) teaching experience in subject/area applying for
• Teaching degree and certification, or equivalent in subject/area applying for and minimum Bachelor's degree
• Experience and training in PYP/MYP/DP
