Position: Teacher of I&S(MYP) and BTEC(DP)

Position Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified teacher to deliver the Individuals and Societies (I&S) curriculum within the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the BTEC courese for Diploma Programme (DP) Students. In general, teachers in ISA Science City are responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and psychological growth. They are responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program that will result in students achieving academic success in accordance with the policies and procedures at ISA Science City. The International Baccalaureate (Middle Year and Diploma Programmes) organises learning into eight subject groups, with an emphasis on inquiry through interdisciplinary learning. Through the programme, students are encouraged to be active learners who through international mindedness are able to empathise with others and pursue a life of purpose and meaning.

Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs)
1. Implement instructional activities where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences
2. Identify, select, and differentiate instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs
3. Plan and implement opportunities for students to engage in digital learning and develop digital competencies
4. Demonstrate best practises in facilitating contemporary pedagogies as part of the teaching and learning program
5. Play a part in developing school curriculum as appropriate to the role
6. Provide a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process.
7. Observe and evaluate each student‘s performance and development, and provide appropriate feedback on student work in a timely manor
8. Assess, track and report on the learning of students
9. Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis
10. Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment
11. Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers and community
12. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents and peers
13. Undertake appropriate and agreed continuing professional development
14. Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines and schedules
15. Contribute to community and corporate aspects of school life
16. Apply classroom management strategies that reflect ISA Science City policies/procedures
17. Attend and actively participate in co-curricular activities such as meetings, yard duties, social activities, sporting events and clubs
18. Attend and actively participate in appropriate professional learning and activities associated

3. Actively participate in all school events and activities of the school as required
4. Participate in performance reviews and assessments as required

6. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by senior leaders of the school
7. Educational & Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualifications (required)

Experience & Knowledge
1. Understanding of the framework of the International Baccalaureate – Middle Years and Diploma Programmes
2.Demonstrated experience and ability to work independently and as part of a team, developing, establishing, implementing, and monitoring learning and curriculum
3.Demonstrated experience supporting, instructing, monitoring, and encouraging students to achieve their full potential and develop their abilities
4.Knowledge of, and experience in using information technology relevant to the teaching, learning and management of a school
5.Demonstrated experience and ability to provide mentoring and guidance to students
6.Demonstrated experience in effective administration, planning, and programming
7.Demonstrated experience in establishing effective working relationships with staff, students and parents
8.Experience in, and passionate about working with and supporting young people on their journey through education

Professional Development: All teaching staff are expected to continually engage in professional learning and development to improve teaching knowledge and practices through their Teacher Growth Plans.

Extent of Authority
1. Work autonomously to deliver an appropriate and relevant instructional program exercising discretion and judgement within specified guideline and standards in order to meet the requirements of the role
2. Work collaboratively with other members of the secondary years staff to ensure the successful delivery of curriculum
3. Responsible for the safety, wellbeing, and academic progress of all students in their care

Accommodation

Appropriate and quality accommodation is provided for teachers according to ISA policies. The size of apartment is determined by teachers' family circumstances.

Staff may choose to take the free school shuttle buses
between the school and the school's designated points of embarkation and disembarkation.

Flights/Transport

Teachers and eligible dependants are entitled to an annual economy flight allowance( capped at a maximum amount)

Moving Allowance

Shipping costs up to the maximum amount of the allowance
by land or sea will be paid by ISA to teachers at the
commencement and completion of employment.

Dependent Opportunities

Free tuition is provided for up to 2 dependent children who are studying at ISA schools.

Medical

ISA provides an attractive Group Medical Insurance Scheme for teachers and eligible dependents.

Bonus

An equivalent of 10% of the total gross salary earned during
the contractual period will be paid to teachers at the end of the contract.
