Position Description:  Student Support Coordinator (Senior School)
Commencing: Oct 2023
Hours of Duty: 8.30 – 3.00pm (Parent and team meetings will occur outside of these times)
Salary: $90-$120,000 depending on qualifications and experience
Applications Close: 1st October 2023
Qualifications: Registration with Queensland College of Teachers, 5+ years’ experience as a classroom teacher in the Senior School and current first aid and CPR certificate

Our innovative Senior School is expanding, and we are thrilled at being able to bring this brand-new and exciting opportunity to you! We are seeking experienced Senior School teachers who have experience and passion for student wellbeing, behavior and learning enrichment.

The role of a Student Support Coordinator is that they work outside of a classroom supporting the student wellbeing team in the implementation of ‘The Silkwood Way’, student wellbeing and behaviour approach and the development of the student wellbeing spaces. This role develops the resources to implement student support strategies, coach the student wellbeing advisors, and communicate with families of students with high level wellbeing, behaviour and learning needs.

What You’ll Do:

Training and Coaching: Training and coaching your direct reports to improve support and engagement for students with wellbeing, learning and behaviour needs.

Planning and Resourcing: Planning and developing the resources needed to support students with wellbeing, learning and behaviour needs.

Managing Learning and Behaviour Support Systems and Programs: Coordinating and developing the systems and processes used to manage student wellbeing spaces, learning and behaviour support information, and specialised learning support programs.

Progressing Individual Student Support Plans: Supporting teachers with the development and progress of individual behavioural and learning plans.

Championing ‘The Silkwood Way’ Student Learning Culture: Supporting Heads of School with the implementation of ‘The Silkwood Way’ student learning culture.

About You:

We are seeking a new team member to join our team, who is passionate about supporting student wellbeing, behaviour and engagement in the Senior School. Instrumental to the role, will be the ability to work in partnership across departments, teams, students and families to support the development of the student wellbeing, behaviour and learning enrichment approach.

This is a busy and fulfilling role, where you will be working within an expanding Learning Enrichment Team to support students and teachers inside and outside of the classroom. You are the 'voice' of Silkwood's Learning Enrichment team when meeting with parents and classroom teachers.
