"The successful candidate would work closely with one other social/emotional counselor and an extended support services network. The focus of this role is social / emotional counselling. Therefore, the role will require the successful candidate to provide small group counselling and some one-on-one support for students and parents. A large part of this role will be to co-plan, co-teach with classroom teachers and help implement strategies across the curriculum to develop social/emotional skills. We are looking for a counselor with a passion for building social and emotional curriculum and for explicitly developing the IB Learner Profile attributes. Experience with Positive Behaviour Interventions and Strategies, Restorative Practice, Active Parenting and Mindfulness practice would be of advantage.
-Bachelor of Science/Education in Social Work / Bachelor of Counselling/ Bachelor of Psychology – with subsequent post graduate counselling qualifications
-Minimum of 2-years’ experience in school counselling or other counselling experience required
-Appropriate license to carryout student counselling
-Strong interpersonal skills with both students and parents
-Demonstrable organizational skills
-Maintains the highest levels of confidentiality and professionalism"
