Teaching Spanish in our American Secondary Section: the position includes some Middle School teaching, as well as a signifiacnt load of High School classes. There may be an opportunnity to teach IBDP if the successful candidate has relevant experience and interest.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement well-structured lesson plans that align with the Languages curriculum.
Foster critical thinking skills, cultural awareness, and global citizenship among students.
Create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that caters to diverse learning styles and backgrounds.
Design interdisciplinary and inquiry-based learning experiences.
Incorporate technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement and comprehension.
Assess and evaluate student performance, providing timely and constructive feedback to promote growth.
Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum, share best practices, and participate in professional development opportunities.
Engage with parents and guardians to communicate student progress and maintain a strong home-school connection.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Languages, Spanish or related field (Master's preferred).
Teaching certification or licensure in teaching Languages (Spanish).
Proficiency in creating student-centered, interactive, and hands-on learning experiences.
Familiarity with the Languages (Spanish) content, skills and topics.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
A commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in the classroom.
Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.
