Working closely with the Vice Principal, Inclusion Learning Leader and teaching staff, the Lower School Learning Support Teacher is responsible for supporting students’ learning needs. Answering directly to the Lower School Vice Principal, the Learning Support Teacher will also be a member of the Lower School Inclusion Team (LSIT).

• Assess barriers to learning of currently enrolled students and provide consultative support for classroom teachers, students, and families.
• Provide direct, consultative, or monitoring support for students.
• Implement and review systems to identify the needs of students.
• Work collaboratively with the Guidance Counseling Team.
• Ensure the implementation of support for identified students based on the RTI tiered model.
• Ensure students receive their accommodation stated on internal and external assessments.
• Communicate with families regarding recommended levels of support and interventions.
• Serve as the case manager for students whose identified barriers are primarily learning or academics.
• Monitor student progress.
• Support the cognitive and adaptive development of students needing remedial or extension support.
• Contribute to the planning, delivery and modification of curricular units with careful attention to differentiated instruction.
• Implement an effective collaborative programme within the mainstream classroom (UDL and differentiated instruction).
• Work collaboratively with the grade level/subject department teams.
• Offering consultative support to members of the grade level/subject department teams.
• Actively seek and participate in professional development opportunities related to their role.
• Seek and act upon constructive feedback and advice.
• Fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese is highly desirable.

From HK$721,000 (2 years experience) to HK$967,000 inclusive of gratuity and special allowance

Dependent Opportunities

Tuition fee subsidy* for teaching staff children (80% reduction in tuition fees and 100% on capital levy for up to 2 students per teacher/teaching couple from Early Years 2 (Age 4) to Grade 12, provided there are available student spaces as per the school's current staff tuition policy, pending admission acceptance). *Tuition fee subsidy refers to subsidy given for tuition fee, annual capital levy, application and entry fees. No subsidy is given for IB exam fees, 1:1 laptop program, tech fee, experience/CAS week, school trips, bus or food services, or other incidental fees/cost.
