This position provides the opportunity of working at a WASC accredited international school, managing small class sizes, and teaching academically motivated students from diverse cultural backgrounds. Chiang Mai International School provides a generous amount of planning time to allow teachers to prepare classes and monitor student progress. The successful candidate will be working collaboratively in a positive and supportive department with well-qualified professional colleagues.

Number of Contract Days
CMIS involves 180 instructional days with students PLUS 10 in-service days (i.e. - orientation, PD days, Parent/Student/Teacher conference days)
Savings Potential
Savings potential is high in Chiang Mai. Cost of living in Thailand is very inexpensive compared to many other locations.
Accommodation
CMIS provides a 'living allowance' each month that can be applied toward accommodation.
Flights/Transport
Economy airfare from home-of-record to Chiang Mai is provided at the start and end of each 2-year contract. Airfare is provided for full-time employees only ... not for dependents.
Moving Allowance
A shipping allowance of 10,000 Thai Baht is provided (approx. $300US).
Dependent Opportunities
A tuition waiver for up to two school-age children is provided. Students must meet enrollment requirements.
Medical
Two types of basic medical insurance are provided. There is an insurance plan for full-time employees and a school-based plan as well. The insurance coverage is applicable to Thailand only.
Retirement
Full-time teachers can enroll in a savings plan ... deposit 3% of salary; school matches 3%; available with interest at end of employment. Enrolling in the savings plan is optional.
Bonus
There is a re-signing bonus offered at the end of each 2-year contract. If a 2-year contract extension is offered and accepted, a bonus is provided. A Christmas bonus is also provided to all full-time teachers.
