HS Learning Support Teacher (2 Positions)

Position: HS Learning Support Teacher (2 Positions)

The Learning Support teacher is responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, spiritual, and psychological growth. The teacher is responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program that will result in students achieving academic success in accordance with ISB’s philosophy. The successful candidate will hold relevant and current learning support/special education degrees and certification.

Qualifications and Experience
Teaching credential that includes learning support / special education
A minimum of two years of relevant teaching experience in a high school setting
Experience with co-planning in order to provide co-teaching in various subjects
A strong background in collaborating with classroom teachers to develop and expand differentiation practices and accommodations/modifications in the classroom
Experience working within an MTSS model
Qualified and experienced with administering and evaluating normative assessments
Strong experience in developing comprehensive IEPs
Background in Social Emotional Learning and working closely with counseling teams

Pedagogical Practice requirements:
Ability to inspire students, celebrate their unique stage of development, and motivate them to reach their full potential
Ability to differentiate instruction in a class with diverse learning needs
Ability to be flexible and work in a multitude of different settings based on student need
Ability to work independently to problem solve and overcome obstacles
