The Elementary Mathematics Curriculum and Learning Specialist (CLS) is a teacher leadership role that integrates the expertise of curriculum coordination with the skills of instructional coaching. The individual will play a pivotal role in shaping the learning experiences of students by providing direction in curriculum development, implementation, and teacher support. This role demands a deep understanding of pedagogical practices, curriculum trends, and instructional strategies, and the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with educators at all levels. This role will work closely with the Learning Design Center team, division administration, teacher leaders, and teams.
The ES Mathematics CLS is responsible for facilitating processes that ensure that ISB maintains a guaranteed and viable Mathematics curriculum which provides a foundation for effective instructional and assessment design, the generation of data that informs student learning process, and allows for responsive and differentiated learning experiences. The CLS is responsible for ensuring that all ES teachers understand the ISB curriculum and learning expectations.
The ES CLS supports the implementation of the curriculum by engaging teachers in professional learning and “student-centered” instructional coaching cycles. The ISB “Student-Centered Model” engages teachers around student learning evidence to identify instructional priorities and support teachers in the implementation of instructional strategies to improve student learning evidence.
