CINEC Education Group is hiring an experienced and conscientious professional to teach in and help build our ELL program at Shanghai Taiwanese Children School (SHTCS). We will offer an ELL program based on a Canadian curriculum to students in the elementary/primary school and middle school grades.
Position: ELL Director/Teacher
We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified ELL Director/Teacher to join our team. Reporting to and with guidance from our on-site Canadian principal, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing English Language Learning programs for our elementary and middle school students.
Responsibilities:
• Support classroom teachers with effective ELL classroom strategies (differentiation, language development techniques, etc.)
• Work with teachers and other stakeholders to support our ELL learners.
• Organize professional development workshops on ELL instruction with regards to best practices, new resources, systems, etc.
• Curate resources that will be beneficial for our program, including textbooks, workbooks, reading lists, software, and instructional material.
• Help manage and train Educational Assistants hired by SHTCS
• Assist in the management of the after-school academic support program
• Help monitor student data to adjust support plans as necessary.
• Help monitor student data to coordinate and align teacher planning
• Support the school Principal with other administrative, instructional, or staffing issues as needed
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience teaching ELL at the elementary/primary/middle school level
- Experience developing and implementing ELL programs
- Knowledge of Canadian curriculum standards is preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members
