Our Elementary School teachers form a highly skilled and collaborative team. There are over 70 faculty members in the ES and close to 650 students from over 60 countries. The ES administration team consists of a Principal and two Vice Principals.
Personal Qualifications and Attributes
Teaching license or certification for elementary school years.
At least 3 years of teaching experience.
Teaching experience in a similar type of international school and this age group (8-11 years old) is an advantage.
Grades 3-5 Teachers: Experience with reading and writing methodology aligned with current science of reading
Experience with Workshop and a structured literacy model.
Experience teaching conceptual-based mathematics
Experience teaching NGSS science curriculum/units
Inquiry approach to teaching and learning (especially in the areas of Science and Social Studies)
Experience designing units with UBD - ‘Understanding by Design’ is an advantage
Experience teaching English Language Learners and supporting translanguaging is an advantage.
Neurodiversity
Experience using data to inform instruction through a Professional Learning Community (PLC)
Demonstrated knowledge and application of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles within the classroom for students of mixed abilities.
Invested in pedagogical best practice and alignment with current educational research
