School description: GUIS-NCPA is an English immersion secondary school for Chinese students located in the Nansha district of Guangzhou. We are a fully accredited (WASC) school with 19 Advanced Placement offerings, and a curriculum based on the US Common Core standards. We believe all teachers are language teachers, regardless of discipline. As a guiding framework for achieving the GUIS-NCPA mission, NCPA adheres to Stanford University’s Six Key Principles for Teaching English Language Learners. All classes are taught in English, except for Chinese literature. The EAL Specialist co-plans and co-teaches with the content teachers to ensure students learn English alongside the academic content of the course.

* Use individual planning time to create scaffolds and supports to make content accessible and provide challenge to students at a range of English proficiency levels

Benefits
Taxes
The school pays all local income taxes on behalf of its employees; salary quoted is net pay.
Savings Potential
Despite being in the midst of some of the most developed cities in China, Nansha retains a very reasonable cost of living. Accordingly, most new hires can expect to save at least 50% of earnings.
Accommodation
The school fully absorbs the cost of teacher lodging; new hires may choose on-campus accommodation, a nearby condominium development or a 'downtown' apartment option.
Flights/Transport
The school pays for beginning and end-of-contract transportation to Nansha and a home-leave between the first and second years of employment.
Utilities
The school pays $1,000 USD per year for teachers' gas, electricity and water costs; this stipend typically fully defrays an individual's utility costs.
Moving Allowance
The school provides teachers a moving and settling-in allowance of $1,250.
Retirement
The school provides an annual retirement contribution that is equivalent to 6% of the employee's base salary.
Bonus
The school provides a package of longevity incentives, including a retirement savings match, renewal bonuses and a 5-year service award.
