The Associate Head of School co-leads the development and implementation of BFIS’ Nursery through Grade 12 curriculum, supporting intentional and systematic reflection, research-based practices, and future-oriented thinking that underpin our Vision for Learning. Working closely with the Head of School, Leadership Team, Instructional Coaches, and Curriculum Coordinators, the Associate Head ensures a cohesive approach to student learning and curriculum consistency from Early Childhood through High School. As the Child Protection Safeguard Lead, this role is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students, prioritizing transparency in communication and a high standard of safeguarding practices.
The Associate Head position requires an exceptional learning leader with well-developed communication skills, human resource experience, and a high level of interpersonal empathy. This individual demonstrates a willingness to engage at every level within the community and navigate complex cultural contexts with an international mindset. They bring rich experience with both national and international curricular frameworks, drawing on a robust professional learning network to implement best practices in student learning and faculty leadership. Success in this role requires active listening skills, self-motivation, strategic and tactical thinking, and the flexibility to thrive within a diverse and demanding school environment. Additionally, strong technology and financial management skills are essential for overseeing whole-school operations.
The successful candidate will support vertical curriculum articulation across divisions, collaborating with Elementary, MYP, and DP Coordinators to align curriculum standards and provide strategic leadership in implementing curriculum and professional learning initiatives to meet IB, CIS, NEASC, and MSA standards.
